IN A NUT SHELL
I'm in the second half of life and to be honest, I have never felt a greater sense of being alive and loving life.
For many others, however, they would view this stage of life as the post-glory days. This could not be further from the truth. To be fair, if you had asked me how I was doing 8 years ago, I would have told you "I'm really struggling!" Perhaps you can resonate:
To anyone looking on, my life was great and I really had nothing to complain about. All, but one of my kids were now adults and had moved on. I was working part time and also studying. We had a beautiful home at the foot of the Dandenong Ranges. I had (still have) a loving vibrant family and a great circle of friends. So on all accounts I should have been very happy and content. Yet frustrating thoughts kept intruding: "Is this all there is?" "What is my purpose in life?" "I want to do something and be truly happy - not just for money." "Why do I feel so frustrated and miserable when I have nothing really to complain about?"
I finally got so sick of feeling frustrated and stuck that I began to seek for answers.
I devoured books on personal development before finally undertaking formal trainings in Personal Development Coaching, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Meditation. In 2017, I finally completed my Bachelor of Ministry. There was a lot of learning, healing and growing. But what was equally exhilarating was discovering how I was wired and what I truly loved doing. You'd think that this should be obvious. But sadly no. So often, the dreams and aspirations of those young years become buried under the rubble of fear, obligations, financial necessities, family responsibilities, agendas of others ... the list goes on. We lose touch with ourselves and our natural gifts and abilities. In short, we rob ourselves of the deep sense of satisfaction and happiness that should be ours as we live our purpose- and through it- serve others.
What I love to do and how it serves others
I love writing.
In 2022, I published my first book, It's Never too late. Its pages offer simple steps for healing, growth and thriving in one's life. As I personally continue to embrace this new mindset, I cannot believe the opportunities for growth and adventure that have come my way. Opportunities to actually fulfil some of those other quiet dreams.
In July 2023, John and I finally made the move to a beautiful part of Queensland, only 35 minutes inland from the coast. This has been one of my dreams for quite awhile. We reside on 6 acres (5.89 to be exact). Our goal to becoming self-sustainable is slowly progressing. We now have a reasonably thriving vegetable and herb garden, a small orchard, 6 laying hens, 2 dairy cows and a calf. Every morning as I sit outside in the sunshine eating my breakfast, I am struck with how blessed I am. My prayer is that the pure beauty of the sounds, smells and sights that I so enjoy, will never lose their wonder.
I enjoy helping others discover what it is that they truly desire - the vision, clarity and 'how to'.
There is such a deep sense of satisfaction when helping someone become unstuck in their life. Watching an individual come to realise and own their giftedness and then build a vision for how they can live a purposeful life, is not only awesome, but a real honour.
I am living proof that it is:
Never too late to discover your purpose in life.
Never too late to experience inner satisfaction and happiness.
Never too late to begin walking to your own drum beat.
Never too late to begin co-creating your life with God... who only desires the best for you.
My mission: to help others discover their uniqueness, revive their dream(s) and craft the life they truly desire.
